Two Crashes on I-75 near Micanopy
March 16, 2015
Two crashes on I-75 involving 4 tractor-trailers and 3 vehicles closed north and southbound lanes during Monday morning rush hour near Micanopy. The first crash occurred approximately 2:10 a.m. when a BMW rear-ended a Toyota Sienna. A freight-liner then slammed into the BMW and struck the guardrail and overturned, blocking the left and center lanes. An Acura RSX coupe then smashed into debris from the prior collisions. Debris in the northbound lanes also led to another crash reported at 5:20 a.m. A tractor trailer was traveling in the outside lane when it swerved into the center lane to avoid stopped traffic ahead. This caused the rig to hit a tractor-trailer in the center lane and the trailer to hit a tanker truck.
Two drivers were issued citations for careless driving. If you are injured in a crash due to the negligence of another, you may be able to recover for your injuries and damages.
